Nottoway Mansion

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE exploring old homes! My obsession started with the Biltmore House many years ago, and now I take any opportunity to tour historic houses.

When my then-boyfriend (now fiance!) and I went to New Orleans with his family over the summer, I was stoked to hear them talk about the River Road Plantations. We spent the whole morning and it was BEAUTIFUL! It is the largest Antebellum mansion in the South and I loved the history we learned through the audio tour.

My obsession was the white room (above) which was used for dances and entertaining. I drooled thinking about doing a bridal session there!

Charleston Harbor Tour

Post 2 for Charleston!

One night we went on a great harbor tour–all of the times I’ve been to Charleston and walked the streets, and I’ve never seen it from a boat! It was a great way to see the city and it was fun to watch the youth enjoy it as well!

A different view of the bridge than most people are used to!

As we left we witnessed a beautiful sunset over the water. A+, would do again.

Angel Oak

Woohoo! I have been doing a little traveling the past few weeks so this is kicking off a string of out-of-town blogs.

Two weeks ago, I was in Charleston with the youth choir from my church. This is actually my 10th year with them, and my final one. It was emotional in that respect, and such a great trip to finish off my time serving there. This first blog features some shots from the Angel Oak!

You can find out all kinds of good info here, but this tree is old, it’s big, and it’s absolutely a “must-see” in Charleston!

I really enjoyed examining the extra vegetation this giant tree supported. Check out the baby ferns!

This kicked off a great week of work, singing, and fellowship. And my dad driving this freaking enormous bus all over Charleston…he’s a legend.

Logo Roundup

Besides taking pictures, I also do a bit of graphic work on the side. From the time I sat down at our very first computer to draw on MS Paint, to photoshopping pictures of horses as a preteen (YES I was most definitely the “horse girl”), to taking my first Graphic Design course in college, digital design has always been a hobby of mine. Just wanted to take a moment to document a few of them here!
